ENID - Mary Jane Geitgey, 78, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at home after a long and very courageous battle with melanoma.

Jane loved the small town of Jet and the many friends she made during her life. Her interests were many including gardening, china painting, ceramics, bridge, pitch and sports of all kinds. Jane loved to laugh, especially with her best friend, Josephine, with whom she had grown up. She always looked forward to the holidays and summers that brought her siblings back to the family farm. Jane also was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jet and Jet Senior Citizens Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bill and George, and one sister, Shirley.

Her husband, John; daughters, Debbie and Jonna; sister, Bessie Mosely; and brother, J.D. Kerr, survive her. Her eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Mandi, Lindsey, Nicole, Larsen, Maci, Parker, Hunter and Chandler will sorely miss their "Grandma Jane."

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Reitz and JoAnne of Cancer Care and Ross Hospice for their professionalism and compassion.
