Timberlake Cemetery


The funeral for Paul I. (Tex) Buffalo, 73, who died Tuesday morning in a local hospital after a long illness, will be at 10 AM Friday in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Bob L. Jared will officiate. Burial will follow in Timberlake Cemetery, Jet.

Buffalo was born April 8, 1912, in Diboll, Texas, to Oscar and Rachel Buffalo. He spent his early years in East Texas. He served in the South Pacific with the U. S. Navy during World War I I and was awarded the Purple Heart. He and Margaret L. Melvin were married in Enid on June 5, 1947. He was a retired logger, truck driver and horse trainer.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Paula L. Chastain, Enid; five sons, Fred L., Gary R. And Jerry, all of Enid, Paul I. "Jug", Oklahoma City, and Dick W. Melvin, Moore; and 13 grandchildren. Other survivors are two daughters, Edna Mae Parker, and Mary Jo Nash, Texas; one sister, Louise Foster, Rye, Texas; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
