Celebration of life service for Micheal Joseph Zarrella, 62, of Enid, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mark Mason officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Goltry. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Micheal Zarrella was born to Ralph and Betty Zarrella on January 11, 1957, at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, and peaceful passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019, with his family by his side.
Ralph served in the Air Force, so the family lived in many places such as Japan, New Jersey, California, and upon Ralph's retirement the family settled in Goltry, OK. Mike graduated from Helena Goltry High School in 1975. Mike later earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from NWOSU. His employment history included being a park ranger with Great Salt Plains, Deputy Sherriff with Alfalfa County, Dept. of Corrections case manager with James Crabtree Correctional Center, Deputy Warden in Granite. He obtained his first retirement through DOC after 29 years of service with probation and parole and supervisor at a work release program. Mike then went back to work as an Enid transit driver before settling into NWOSU Enid as computer systems analyst as a second career. Mike retired a second time from NWOSU after another 10 years of service.
He was a worker, caretaker and always gave to others. Some of Mike's favorite pastimes were riding his Harley and hunting. Mike owned various Harley Davidson motorcycles throughout his life. He loved riding his bike with his wife Donna and best friends Dwight, Peggy, Mac and Linda. He loved his family, friends, and confidants. He will forever be taking care of others and watching over us from above.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Zarrella.
Mike is survived by his wife Donna; children, Christina Clark, Danny Zarrella, Pamela Bookout, Brian Alvarez, Misty White, Sarah Jones, Amista Chambers, Teri Soto, and Amanda Melvin and their spouses; 20 grandchildren; his father, Ralph Zarrella; sister, Elizabeth Pidcock; and several nieces and nephews.
