The Mass of Christian burial for Anita Marie Dettle, 83 year-old Carrier resident is 11:00AM Friday, February 23, 2024 in St. Gregory's the Great Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Mason officiating. A private family burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Recitation of the most Holy Rosary is 7:00PM Thursday evening in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Tony Crispo will lead.
Anita Marie Dettle, born on August 14, 1940, to Fred "Shorty" and June Arebalo in Alva, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. Anita was the beloved wife of Richard Dettle and the devoted mother of Traci Dettle Lundy, Tari Intardonato and Mark Lodato.
Traci, with her spouse Gary Lundy, resides in Oklahoma City, OK. Tari, along with her spouse Joseph Intardonato, make their home in Keller, TX. Mark, accompanied by his spouse Vincenzo Lodato, resides in Florence, Italy. Anita treasured her grandchildren: Courtney Green of Enid, OK, Jarod Lundy and his wife, Noel of Guthrie, OK, and Matthew Intardonato, of College Station, TX. Anita found great joy in her great-grandson, Lucian Dettle English.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Arebalo. She lived a life rich in experiences and love. Growing up in Alva, OK, Anita attended school and later represented her community at Oklahoma Girls State in Chickasha, OK, in 1956. Her alma mater, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, honored her by electing her Freshman Queen for the royal homecoming court in October 1957.
In 1959, Anita married the love of her life, Richard, in Pensacola, Florida. She adored playing bridge, where her competitive spirit shone bright, and her family relished the delicious desserts she baked with love. Anita had a profound love for reading mystery novels. Anita's passion for travel took her across the United States, as well as to Spain, London, Jamaica, Ireland, and Hawaii. Even though she loved traveling the world, her family was her whole world. She loved her family unconditionally and they felt that.
Since 1985, Anita resided on the family farm in Carrier, Oklahoma, finding solace and joy in its embrace. She was a devoted member of St. Gregory's the Great Catholic church, where her faith sustained her. Anita's unwavering love and support enriched the lives of all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on her family and community.
In addition to her husband and children, Anita is survived by her sister, Brenda Hannaford of Alva, OK. along with her brother-in-law, Joe Dettle and sister-in-law, Kay. She is also mourned by sister-in-laws Patsy Weber, Elaine Dettle, Marilyn and brother-in-law Myron Semrad, and Janice Gannon, all of whom shared in her life's journey and memories. Anita is also survived by her many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
The Mass of Christian burial for Anita will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at St. Gregory's the Great Catholic Church at 11 AM, with arrangements entrusted to Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at St. Michael's Cemetery in Goltry, OK. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. Joseph's Catholic School in honor of Anita, a testament to her commitment to education and her enduring legacy of love and generosity.
Anita's kindness, warmth, and love will forever be remembered and cherished by those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
