Graveside services for Christine Moore will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Short Springs Cemetery, rural Alva, under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Alva. She will be laid to rest with Carl, her mother and father, her grandfather and grandmother Miller, and her aunt Pearl Miller.
Christine, daughter of Opal (Miller) and Everett Rust, was born in Alva, Oklahoma, on May 16, 1940. She left this earthly life December 17, 2017, to walk with her Lord and Savior and to be reunited with her husband of 39 years, Carl. In their heavenly home, they are enjoying their grandchildren who preceded them: twins Joshua and Jordan Gray and Jaycie Westbrook. She was united in marriage to Carl Moore from Kirksville, Missouri, on November 23, 1962. They lived in Shallow Water, Pierceville, and Cimarron, Kansas, where she taught school. In 1966, they moved to Alva and made their home where Christine became an Avon Representative for 34 years. After Carl’s death in 2002, Christine moved to Enid to be closer to family.
Christine lived most of her life in Alva and graduated from Alva High School in 1958. She received her bachelor of science in home economics from Bethany Nazarene College in 1962. Carl and Christine’s marriage was blessed by their two daughters, Cheryl and Charity, and the addition of Dawn.
Christine is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Cheryl and Danny Gray of Enid, Charity and Brian Allee of Pauls Valley, and Dawn and Paul Westbrook of Shawnee, as well as seven grandchildren: Madelyn and Connor Gray, Melody and Trevor Allee, Jenna Westbrook and Kaylan Westbrook Sanchez and her husband, Carlos.
