ENID — The funeral for Marvin J. Wells, 80, will be held 10 a.m. today, April 19, 2010, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Carrel Still will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Jet, Okla.
Marvin was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Enid, Okla., to Carl S. and Essie B. (Tarr) Wells and died Friday, April 16, 2010, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid, Okla.
He graduated from Jet High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was discharged in March 1953.
On April 25, 1968, he married Dolores Miller in Woodward, Okla. She preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 2005.
Marvin was a member of Willow Road Christian Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Forinthian Lodge 307 and 32nd Degree of Scottish Rite.
Survivors include two sons, Sherwood Wells and wife Susan of Avon Park, Fla., and Michael Wells of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; stepson, Leland Cheap and wife Jody of Schertz, Texas; stepdaughter, Becky Ratliff and husband, Beno of Woodward, Okla.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Watson of Spavinaw, Okla., and Doris Jones and husband David of Enid, Okla.; and brother-in-law of Strang, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Delores, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Jet with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
