ENID - The funeral for Jerald D. Kiser "J.D.," 72, of Jet, will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at United Methodist Church, Jet. The Revs. Mary Irby and Dean Holt will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, north of Jet. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee. Viewing will be 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
He was born June 8, 1937, in Holdenville and died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at his home.
He enlisted in the Navy July 22, 1954, and trained as a meteorologist, serving until 1974. Following retirement from the Navy, he worked as a long-haul truck driver.
He married Ruby Smith Feb. 14, 1978. They made their home in Jet, where he lived until his death.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby, of the home; one daughter, Valerie Rovins of Scarsdale, N.Y.; one stepson, Don Smith of Newalla; one sister, Billye Young-blood of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.

Funeral service for Ruby Alene Kiser, 90 of Jet, will be 11:00 AM, Friday, at Jet Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Jet with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Ruby was born January 7, 1927 in Konawa, OK to John & Emma (Blair) Williams, and passed away on December 3, 2017 at her home.
She began working for Couch Trucking Co in 1945 as the billing clerk. She then worked for Joe Hodges Trucking for fourteen and a half years and then Chief Trucking for seventeen and a half years. She finally retired as claim manager at Western Motor Freight after about fourty-five years in freight lines employment. She truly loved her job. She also enjoyed fishing and was in HCE group.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jerald Kiser; and her 3 sisters, Josaphene Williams, Velma Brewer, and Della Kraft and 1 brother, David Williams.
Ruby is survived by her step son, Donald E Smith and wife Julie, two grandchildren, Rhonda Smith and Tracey Self, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
