CARMEN - The funeral for Mitzi Lou Woods Frey, 74, formerly of Carmen, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at Wentworth Mortuary Chapel, Carmen. The Rev. Scott Heisel will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
She was born May 2, 1935, in Alva to James George and Lela Mae Evans Woods and died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, in Cordell.
She attended Horace Mann Grade School and graduated from Alva High School in 1953.
She married George Junior Frey Dec. 12, 1952, in Waukomis. They lived most of their lives in Carmen, where she was a longtime member of United Methodist Church. She later transferred her membership to Fairview. She moved to Cordell Christian Home in 1999.
Surviving are one son, Scotty George Frey of Elk City; two daughters, Suzan McCarthy of Medicine Lodge, Kan., and Cindy Wieden of Fairview; two brothers, Kenneth Woods of Alva and Jerry Woods of Kaw City; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, one brother and an infant sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Cordell Christian Home, Alzheimer's unit or Carmen Park fund.
