ENID — Service for Marvin Lee Richter, 83, of Aline, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at First Christian Church, Aline, with Polly Young officiating. Private family burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, south of Cherokee, at a later date.
Marvin was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Cherokee the son of Charles Harrison and Serena Alice (Fowler) Richter and died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, in Cherokee.
He was raised and educated in the Cherokee area, graduating from Lambert High School with the class of 1945.
He married Norma Louise Ebert Sept. 29, 1947, in Meade, Kan. They celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to her death May 2, 1998.
Marvin was a lifelong farmer in Alfalfa County and a heavy equipment operator and dirt contractor throughout the State. He also owned and operated a county landfill for many years. Marvin was a member of the First Christian Church, Aline.
Survivors include son, David Richter and wife Janice, Ponca City; daughters, Kiedrian Fennell, Alva, and Kendall Lasiter, Norman; grandchildren, Tara Nash and husband Russell, Austin, Texas, Jeremy Richter, Ponca City, Devon Lasiter, Kailua, Hawaii, and Abby Lasiter, Norman; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Thomas and Ellen Nash and Dawson and MaKinsey Richter; sister-in-law, Marjorie Holderby, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and numerous relatives and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and two sisters.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stittsworth Funeral Service.
