Erma Blanch Shelite
The funeral for Erma Blanch Shelite, 89, of Alva, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel, Alva. The Rev. Connie Kinnard will officiate. Burial will be in Keith Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 20, 1916, near Freedom to John James and Agnes Catherine Bryson Vincent and died Monday, March 14, 2005, at Beadles Nursing Home, Alva. She graduated from Farry High School in 1935.
She married L.G. ?Red? Shelite July 15, 1939, in Enid. They lived on a farm near Capron, then they moved to the Dacoma area where they farmed.
She worked as a telephone operator for several years. She also worked for the Carmen-Dacoma school system as a cafeteria worker.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church in Dacoma.
Surviving are her daughter, Joretta Buckles of Dacoma; two brothers, Todd Vincent of Lakin, Kan., and Gene Vincent of Betheseda, Md.; a sister, Wilma Whitney of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Beadles Nursing Home Activity Fund.
