Keith Cemetery

Lornella Ann (Daughhetee) Rieger, daughter of Jess and Leota (Parker) Daughhetee, was born October 27, 1932 at Alva, Oklahoma. She passed away November 15, 2017 at Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years surrounded by her family. Lornella grew up in the Capron and Burlington communities and graduated from Burlington High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Virgil (Banny) Rieger on July 31, 1949 in Cherokee, Oklahoma. They were married for 60 years. Together they worked for the Burlington Coop and Lornella did wood finishing and painting in new homes. She was also the Burlington news correspondent for the newspapers in Alva, Cherokee, and Kiowa before they moved to Enid in 1978. After moving to Enid, she worked as a cashier for various lumber companies including Boise Cascade, Athey and Hughes.

Lornella was a loyal and devoted mother to her family. Because Banny was a referee and with three active sons, much time was spent at sporting events in many communities. She was always their biggest fan in any sport or activity. She also enjoyed going fishing, helping with cub scouts, and being involved in every way with her family.

Besides her parents, Lornella was preceded in death by her husband Banny in 2009, an infant brother, Milton, and her brother Jesse Dale (J.D.) Daughhetee.

She is survived by her sons, Loren and Nancy Rieger of Cherokee, Oklahoma; Mark and Joan Rieger of Park City, Kansas; and Sidney (Sid) and Cindy Rieger of Blanchard, Oklahoma; also her grandchildren Randon and Andrea Rieger, Lisa and Jason Hazzard, both of Edmond, Oklahoma; Travis Cole, of Topeka, Kansas; Christa Geary-Taylor and Niki Taylor of Moore, Oklahoma; and Raymond and Robyn Rieger, of Norman, Oklahoma. Great grandchildren are Emily, Cadon, Jaxon and Rylon Rieger; Colton and Kinzie Hazzard; Angelina Cole; and Lofton Taylor. She is also survived by her sister Beverly Jo Roots, her sister-in-law Della Smith, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Lornella will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel, Cherokee. Burial will follow at Keith Cemetery, Burlington. Viewing will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
