LEROY G. WEDEL
The funeral for LeRoy G. Wedel, 87, of Moundridge, Kan., formerly of Goltry, OK. will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Pleasant View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Goltry. The Revs. Dennis Koehn and Randy Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Karoma Cemetery near Goltry, OK. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena, OK. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Alfalfa County, OK. to Fred and Sophina Buller Wedel and died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at Mercy Hospital, Moundridge, KS.
He married Delcie Koehn Dec. 31, 1944, in Goltry, where they made their home until they moved to Moundridge Manor in March 2004. She died in May 2004.
He was a minister of Pleasant View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Goltry for more than 60 years. He was also a farmer and carpenter.
Surviving are one son, Tony Wedel of Goodwell,; five daughters, Juanita Koehn of Canton, Kan., Glenda Eck of Turlock, Calif., Sheryle Boehs of Isabella, OK., Patsy Koehn of Leoti, Kan., and Peggy Schmidt of Dalhart, Texas; one sister, LaVera Johnson of Loveland, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Delcie, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Moundridge Manor.
