Karoma Cemetery


ENID — Funeral service for Wayne Unruh, 76, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Thurman Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry. Visitation with family will be 5-6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wayne was born to Dave and Marie (Wedel) Unruh on March 30, 1935, in Meno and died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, in Enid.

Wayne grew up in the Helena area and graduated from Helena High School.

On June 8, 1956, he married Edith Frantz in Hillsboro, Kan.

Wayne served in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Wayne and Edith made their home in Meno and then Enid.

Wayne worked for civil service at Vance AFB as a supply clerk and meat cutter for 32 years before retiring.

Wayne was a member of Victory Bible Church. He enjoyed gardening, playing guitar and singing in rest homes and prisons.

He is survived by his wife, Edith of the home; children, Lester (Twyla) Unruh of Central City, Neb., Earl (Pam) Unruh of Hillsdale and Dolores (Fred) Johnson of Belton, Mo.; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hazel and Marcena; and two brothers, Cecil and Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Christ for Me Inc.
