Funeral service for Paul Unruh, 85, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church, Enid, with Pastor Ron Olson officiating. Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Helena. (www.lanmanmemorials.com) Paul was born March 11, 1928, in Enid, Okla., to C.B. and Katie Unruh. He passed on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, in Enid.
On April 21, 1946, he married Elizabeth Koehn in Enid, with whom he had 14 children. Elizabeth died Nov. 22, 1993.
He was a member of Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church.
Paul and Elizabeth spent most of their married life in and around the Enid area. In 1991, he retired from Burlington Northern Railroad.
On Oct. 25, 1997, he married Merle Dahlin in Enid.
He loved the Lord, his church and his family. He especially loved having his children home to watch an OU game.
Paul is survived by his wife, Merle of Enid; eight daughters, Evelyn and husband Claude Lozier, Alice and husband Larry Miller, Zella Klucas, Carol Snowden, all of Enid, Lois and husband James Grimshaw of Bossier, La., Anita and husband Don Hatfield of Terrell, Texas, Naomi Cain of Gadsden, Ala., Teresa and husband David Butler of Owasso; three sons, Keith Unruh, Eric Unruh and wife Lori of Enid, and Clifford Unruh and wife Anna of Galesferry, Conn.; three stepchildren, Linda Rheader, Cathy Machues and Teresa Ross; 25 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth; three sons, Earnest, Jimmy and Randy; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church through the funeral home.
