Goltry – The funeral for Freeman J. Unruh, 76, who died Monday at Bass Baptist Hospital, Enid, after a lengthy illness, will be at 10:30 AM Thursday at Pleasant View Mennonite Church. The Rev.'s Reuben Koehn, Myron Nightengale and Dennis Koehn will officiate. Burial will be in, Karoma Cemetery at Goltry under the direction of Kenny Lanman Funeral Home, Helena.
He was born December 30, 1913, in Galva, Kansas, to Jacob and Susie Koehn Unruh. He attended schools at Galva and was a member of Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church.
Unruh was a semi-retired painter and carpenter. He and Mamie Wedel were married March 2, 1941, at Goltry, where they lived for 48 years.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Ron of Enid; six brothers, Murphy of Moundridge, Kansas, Leland of Canton, Kansas, Harvey, Eli and Virgil, all of Galva, and Lacey of Newton, Kansas; two sisters, Elvina Unruh of Okolona, Mississippi, and Goldie Unruh of Galva; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Pleasant View Mennonite Church.
