Karoma Cemetery


Goltry – Marie Unruh, 92, died Friday at the Fairview Fellowship Home.

Services will be 2 PM Monday at the Zoar Mennonite Church with the Rev. Keith Decker officiating. Burial will follow at the Karoma Cemetery under the direction of the Kenny Lanman Funeral Home.

She was born September 23, 1894, at Halstead, Kansas, to Andrew and Elizabeth Koehn Wedel. She came to the Goltry area as a small child and attended schools there. She and David Unruh were married at Enid in 1913 and lived in the Goltry – Meno – Helena area, where they farmed. They moved to Goltry in 1963. She attended the Zoar Mennonite church.

Survivors include two daughters, Hazel Pekrul, Goltry, and Marcena Johnson, Smithville, Missouri; three sons, Cecil, Arkansas City, Kansas, Vernon, Tonkawa, and Wayne, Enid; a sister, Eva Nightengale, Fairview; 14 grandchildren, 16 great – grandchildren and one great – great – grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960, a sister, three brothers, three grandchildren and a great – grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Zoar Mennonite Church building fund or mission fund with the funeral home serving as custodian.
