The funeral for Genevieve Katherine Strange, 85, will be 2 p.m. today, March 28, 2009, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bruce Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry, Okla.
Genevieve was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Helena, Okla., to Elmer and Bertha (Thompson) McNabb and died Wednesday morning, March 25, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She graduated from Helena High School.
She married Elmo R. (Bill) Strange Jan. 25, 1945, in Helena, Okla. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Enid. She worked for Marquise Studio Photography/Craft Shop for 31 years. In her early years, she worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kan.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Nimmo; one granddaughter, Deanna Nimmo; and one great-grandson, KeShawn Haley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Roy (Runt) McNabb, Wayne (Pete) McNabb and Loyd McNabb; grandson, Donovan Q. Nimmo; nephews, Monte McNabb and Wayne McNabb; and niece, Beverly Penquite-MacFarline.
Memorials may be made to Enid SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
