ENID — The funeral service for Opal Frances Penner, 93, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at New Hopedale Mennonite Church, Meno, Okla. Rev. James K. Suderman will officiate. Burial will be in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. A time of visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Opal was born Dec. 19, 1916, near Goltry to Joe and Dena (Jantz) Buller and died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010.
She married Lawrence Penner July 26, 1936, in Goltry. She was a homemaker and active partner in the farming, ranching and dairy operations with her husband until his death in May 1994.
She was active with Ladies Aid at New Hopedale Mennonite Church, where she was a member. She quilted with her sisters for charity purposes. In the past she was involved in the music activities of her church, singing in the choir and small group ensembles.
Survivors include her children, Joan Van Meter, Enid, Okla., Norma Gray, Olathe, Kan., and Karen Jantzen and husband Jay, Yukon, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Regier; and brother, Robert Buller.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Shirley Buller; sisters, Mildred Schmidt and Matilda Buller; and brothers, Virgil Buller and Elgin Buller.
Memorials may be made to New Hopedale Mennonite Church or Oklahoma Bible Academy with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
