GOLTRY — Funeral for Orval Pekrul, 96, of Goltry, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zoar Mennonite Church, Goltry. Rev. Leland Streck will officiate. Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry, under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Orval was born March 7, 1916, in Goltry, OK, to Henry and Caroline Koehn Pekrul and passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012, in The Commons Care Center.
Orval married Hazel Unruh November 23, 1936, in Fairview, OK. She passed away in 1993. On April 16, 1995 he married Marie Jantz in Ringwood. She passed away in 2007.
Orval owned and operated Pekrul Garage in Goltry for 21 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Zoar Mennonite Church and served as custodian for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his son Gary (Judy) of Enid; grandchildren, David (Pam) Harms of Corn, Kaylin (Ted) Offutt of Atlanta, GA, Danny (Beth) Harms of Corn, Audra (Clint) Beagley of Enid, and Clint Pekrul of Denver, CO; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Willard (Beth) Pekrul of Oklahoma City and Everett (Shirley) Pekrul of Ringwood; two sisters, Margaret Nichols of Goltry and Verna Unruh of Ringwood; stepchildren, Dianna Ratzlaff, Tim (Myrna) Jantz, Mitzi Maddox, Cherryl (James) Davis and Linda (Jim) Nichols; eight stepgrandchildren; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; Marilyn Harms of Corn, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter Myrna Harms, grandson Eric Pekrul, sister Alfreda Unruh, step-granddaughter Patty Davis and step-grandson Jason Ratzlaff.
Memorials may be made to the operating and maintenance fund of Zoar Mennonite Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
