The funeral for Anna Margaret Nixon was held Friday in Darnell Funeral Home Chapel in Enid with burial in Karoma Cemetery in Goltry.

Anna was born July 9, 1869 in Marion County Missouri and died at an Enid hospital Tuesday January 26, 1960 following a lengthy illness.

She came from Macon Missouri to Oklahoma during the Cherokee Strip opening and homesteaded 15 miles west and three miles north of Enid. She moved to Goltry in 1920 and to Enid in 1942. She had made her home here since and was residing at 1002 N. Madison at the time of her death.

Anna was a member of Evangelical United Brethren Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lena Bell Smith and Mrs. Vera Gazelle Mahaffey, both of Enid ; two sons, Emmet L. Nixon of Enid and Roy Jennings Nixon of Goltry; 14 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
