Goltry, OK — GOLTRY — Funeral service for Margaret Nichols will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Zoar Mennonite Church, with Pastors Leland Streck and Scott Hofen officiating. Burial will be in Karoma Cemetery, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Viewing at the funeral home will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today

Margaret Pekrul Nichols was born Aug. 24, 1920, in Alden, Okla., to Henry and Caroline Koehn Pekrul and passed from this life on Monday, July 29, 2013, in Helena.

She and Virgil Nichols were married Aug. 23, 1936, at the home place by Rev. John P. Unruh. They enjoyed 61 years together before Virgil’s death in 1997.

Margaret was a wonderful seamstress for many years. She loved working in her yard and growing flowers. She attended Zoar Mennonite Church, where she participated in many church activities.

Survivors include four children, Donnis Kent of Helena, Roger Nichols and wife Carlene of Helena, Dennis Nichols and wife Susan of Helena, and Jim Nichols and wife Linda of Goltry; two brothers, Willard Pekrul of Oklahoma City, and Everett Pekrul and wife Shirley of Ringwood; one sister, Verna Unruh of Ringwood; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Those who have preceded Margaret in death are her parents, Henry and Carrie Pekrul; her husband, Virgil Nichols; one sister, Alfreda Unruh; one brother, Orval Pekrul; two infant granddaughters; one daughter-in-law, Judy Nichols; and one son-in-law, Tom Kent.

Memorials may be made to Zoar Mennonite Church or Ross Hospice through the funeral home.
