June 7, 1959 - July 4, 2018

Funeral service for Rick G. Nelson, 59 of Carrier, will be 10:30 AM, Monday, July 9, 2018 at Carrier Congregational Church with Pastor Kelly Cronkhite officiating. Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Rick was born on June 7, 1959 to George and Rho-Donna (Selby) Nelson and passed away on July 4, 2018 in Tulsa.

Rick grew up in Carrier and attended Chisholm Schools. He worked as a custom cutter with his parents and later as a heavy equipment operator in the pipelines industry. In 1991 he met Tammie Johnston. Rick and Tammie got married on February 5, 1995 and made their home in Carrier. Rick traveled often for work. He loved spending time with his family, fur babies, and fishing.

Rick was preceded in death by both of his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Tammie; three children, Jesse (Maria) Nelson of Enid, Crystal Amsler (Aaron) of Enid, and Kody Dirickson of Pauls Valley; six grandchildren, Hannah, Brooklyn, Daniel, Elijah, Paisley Bree, and Bentley; two brothers, Jon Nelson of Breckinridge, and Les Nelson (Sherrie) of Carrier; and sister, Darla Jankey (John) of Enid; brother-in-law, Kenny (Gina) Johnston of Glenpool; sister-in-law, Cindy Brannon of Carrier; other relatives.

Memorials may be made to the funeral home.
