Alice M. (Fenton) Myers
The funeral for Alice M. Myers, 71, of Goltry, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Congregational Church of Chirst in Goltry. The Rev. Jane Ho will officiate. Burial will be in Karoma Cemetery, east of Goltry. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Helena. Viewing will be 2 to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was born May 17, 1936, in Vici to Ivan Kenneth and Sylvia Mae Bowers Fenton and died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, in Ames.
She graduated from Richmond High School in 1954. She moved to Enid and worked at Gold Spot Dairy as bookkeeper. She married Dallas Myers March 12, 1955, in Vici. They lived in Chicago, Enid and Goltry. She worked at a boys home in Kansas, Kmart and was co-owner and operator of Myers Gas Station and Gamble’s Hardware Store in Goltry.
Surviving are her husband, Dallas, of Goltry; one son, Bill Myers of Goltry; three daughters, Teresa Specht of Parker, Colo., Linda Simons of Ames and Bobbie Prentice of Drummond; one brother, Darryl Fenton of Vici; two sisters, Kathy Moss of Alva and Lois Holly of Camargo; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to breast cancer research or Goltry Volunteer Fire Department.

GOLTRY — The graveside service for Dallas Wade Myers is 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Karoma Cemetery, Goltry. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Condolences may be made at www.LanmanMemorials.com.

Dallas was born one of nine children to Brian Myers and Bonnie Myers in Kingsport, Tenn. After graduating from high school in 1953, Dallas joined the National Guard, serving four months overseas in Korea. Dallas was honorably discharged March 1953. Dallas then joined the U.S. Air Force and was based in James Connally AFB in Waco, Texas; Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas; and Vance AFB in Enid. He was honorably discharged in May 1956.

While stationed at Vance AFB, he met Alice Marie Fenton. They married March 12, 1955. After his discharge from the Air Force, Dallas served several years as a firefighter at Vance AFB. Afterwards, Dallas and Alice moved from Enid to Chicago for a short time, where he drove an ambulance. They then moved to Goltry and opened a gas station and hardware store. Throughout the rest of his life, Dallas worked for several different trucking and oil field companies. Most recently, he retired from Longhorn Services at the age of 81. Dallas and Alice resided in Goltry until her death in 2007. He then moved to Cleo Springs to manage a saltwater disposal. Dallas's hobbies included riding his motorcycle, finding a game of cards and playing the slots at the casino.

Dallas is survived by his son, Billy Myers of Goltry; daughters, Theresa Specht of Parks, Colo., Linda Lawson of Enid and Bobbie Prentice of Drummond. Dallas has 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Dallas lived his last days at his granddaughter's house, where he passed away on March 22, 2017, to lung cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; brothers, Robert, Terry, Wayne, Bill and Richard; sisters, Edna, Oga and Jean.
