September 9, 1931 - June 19, 2018

Berwyn Leo Hoskins was born September 9 1931 to Leo Asa Hoskins and Julia Pearl Day Hoskins in Idalia, Colorado. He ran into the arms of Jesus June 19, 2018, whole once again in body and mind.

Berwyn was raised on a small farm in northeastern Colorado where he learned hard work, ingenuity and trust in the Lord. He went to school in a one room country school and then graduated from Yuma Union High School. He was active in track and softball and loved horses. He then went to college at Bethal Bible College in Indiana becoming a pastor in the Missionary Church. He pastored churches in Iowa and Nebraska.

In 1948 he married Norma Groshart and had two sons. In 1970 he married Rosa Leigh Hoskins who passed away in 2009. In 2010 he married Cynthia Lock.

Berwyn had many varied jobs. He had a home delivery milk route, sold metal buildings, went on harvest, owned a restaurant, drove an oil tanker, owned a freight business and had a yard mowing business. Everything he did, he did well and was loved by everyone who knew him.

Berwyn was a member of the Zoar Mennonite Church in Goltry and loved and served his Lord with all of his heart.

Berwyn was preceded in death by his parents; a baby sister, Bernita; a baby brother, Douglas; his previous wife, Leigh; his son, Kent Eugene Hoskins and a great-great granddaughter.

Those left to hold him in their hearts are his wife, Cindy; his children, Dan Hoskins and wife, Barb, Pat Vassar and husband, Gary, Dennis Devine and wife, Joyce, Marleen Eastin and husband, Gary, Pam Black and husband, Denny, David Devine and wife, Holli, Dawn Fausett and Heather White and husband, Dave; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren.

Goltry-Funeral service for Berwyn will be Monday, June 25, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Zoar Mennonite Church in Goltry. Burial will follow at Karoma Cemetery, Goltry with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. www.lanmanmemorials.com ; Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association through the funeral home.
