Services for Marie A. Hartman, 87, were at 10 AM Monday at the First Christian Church of Cherokee, with the Rev. Eugene R. Spillman officiating. Burial was at Karoma Cemetery, Goltry, under the direction of Goodwin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hartman died Friday at the Alfalfa County Hospital.
Born October 27, 1898, in Halstead, Kansas, to Peter B. And Katie Becker, she spent her childhood and youth in the Meno – Goltry area.
September 11, 1916, she married E.H. "Frosty" Hartman, who died in 1974.
Mrs. Hartman was a member of First Christian Church, where she served as choir director, Deaconess, youth director and Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of Eastern Star and Melody Four, a quartet once featured weekly on radio station KCRC in Enid.
She managed the gift shop at Smith Drug Store, Cherokee.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. D.M. (Nora Belle) May of Ulysses, Kansas; a brother, Floyd Becker of Dallas; two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church choir, with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
