Helena – Funeral services for Belva Hartman, 75, who died Wednesday morning in an Enid hospital following a long illness, will be at 2:30 PM Saturday in the Helena high school auditorium.

The Rev. Charley Graves will officiate at the service, assisted by the Rev. R. T. (Cotton) DeLay. Mrs. Hartman will be buried in the Karoma Cemetery.

The casket will be open at the high school before the service and will remain closed afterward. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kenny Lanman Funeral Home of Helena.

Mrs. Hartman was born December 31, 1905, at Lambert. While she was still a child the family moved to western Oklahoma, later moving to Cherokee.

She and Ray Hartman were married there June 3, 1926. She worked as a dental assistant for a number of years, then owned and operated a ladies ready – to – wear shop in Cherokee. They moved to Helena im 1936, where they owned and operated a drugstore until 1947.

Since then, they have been engaged in cattle raising and farming. Mrs. Hartman was a member of the Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She served her OES chapter as Treasurer and as Worthy Matron.

Mrs. Hartman is survived by her husband of the home; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Wilda Myrle) Sprague of Helena; two brothers, Bill Case, Edmond and Fain Case, Vancouver, Washington. She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Hartman's family has suggested that those who wish make contributions in her memory to the United Methodist Women of Helena. Contributions may be made in her name to the church or through Lanman's.
