ENID — Funeral for Master Sergeant Justin Raye Diel, 39, U.S. Air Force, formerly of Enid, will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Central Christian Church, Enid. The Revs. Don Johnson and Col. Gordon Jantz, USAF retired, will officiate. A private burial will be in Karoma Cemetery, Goltry. A memorial service is 2 p.m. March 8, 2013, at Hurlburt Chapel, Hurlburt Field, Fla. Local arrangements by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Justin was born May 31, 1973, in Enid, Okla., to Jimmy Raye Diel and Cathie Lea Thornburgh Whipkey. Justin died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, in Navarre, Fla.

Upon completing graduation from Helena-Goltry High School in 1991, Justin entered the U.S. Air Force in 1992.

He married Natalie Lucretia Diel Sept. 29, 2006, in Navarre, Fla.

MSgt. Justin Diel was an aerial gunner on MH-53 helicopters and AC-130U gunships. Justin retired from Hurlburt Field, Fla., in 2012.

Surviving are his wife, Natalie of Navarre, Fla., and their children, Brianna Renee’ Diel and Savannah Rose Diel; his parents, Jimmy Raye Diel and wife Judy of Drummond, and Cathie Lea Whipkey and husband Harold of Higgins, Texas; sisters, Casie Lea Brownlee and husband Kyle of Enid, Okla., Kristina Ann Redman and husband Nathan of Edmond, Okla., Kimberly Dawn Scrogin and husband Chris of Corning, Ark.; stepbrothers, Ron Whipkey of Kingston, Okla., and Roger Whipkey of Lubbock, Texas; stepsister, Makayla Booze of Enid, Okla.; and grandmother, Irene Harguess of Enid, Okla.;

Justin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ivan Diel, D.L. Harguess, Berniece Thornburgh and Lavern Thornburgh.

Pallbearers are the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Honary pallbearers are Eric Card, Chad Grebb, Jim Gerhart, Steven Foust and Mike Jenson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wymer Brownlee, Diel Scholarship Fund, 110 N. Independence, Enid, OK 73701.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
