Jackie Amrine
November 24, 1943 - February 15, 2025
Jackie J. Amrine was born at home in Tryon, Oklahoma on November 24, 1943 to James and Mary (Hicks) Amrine and passed away in Enid, Oklahoma on February 15, 2025. Jackie was the youngest of four children. He attended Tryon Public Schools and graduated in 1961. He received a draft notice and was drafted into the U.S. Army on April 19, 1965. He was part of the 313th Radio Research Battalion. After training he then served in the Vietnam War through 1967 as a lineman. After completing his tour in Vietnam he served in the U.S. Army Reserves until March of 1971.
Jackie met the love of his life, Charlotte Ann Staley in Enid, Oklahoma and they wed on March 13, 1971. During the early years of their marriage Jackie worked for Rock Island/Santa Fe Railroad and the Burlington Northern Railroad as a conductor. In 1973 they were blessed with their only child, Sandra Voss (Amrine). In the 1980's Jackie and Charlotte owned and operated a service station on 4th street north of Enid, of which he was very proud. Jackie liked to mechanic when he was younger and also keep his yard pristine. As the years went on yard work and mowing were a passion of his and he donated a lot of time in the Goltry area mowing and making sure things looked nice. Jackie also enjoyed taking Charlotte out to the ponds to try to catch a few fish and just watch the cows and the donkey. The simple things in life brought him the most joy.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte Amrine; daughter, Sandra Voss and husband, Dru; grandchildren, Katlyn Mueggenborg (Voss) and husband, Dane, Austin Voss and Jack Voss; great grandchildren, Ari Voss, Rowan, Wrenlee and Nora Mueggenborg.
Jackie is preceded by his parents, James and Mary Amrine; sisters, Betty Westfall and Christine Venable; brother, Eddie Amrine and many other loving relatives.
Service for Jackie will be Friday, February 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Lanman Chapel in Helena with graveside service to follow at Karoma Cemetery in Goltry. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena. www.lanmanfuneralhome.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
