Dorotha, 92, of Enid, went peacefully to her eternal home on Wednesday, October 14, 2021. Graveside service for Dorotha will be on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 10:30 am in Good Hope Cemetery, Helena, Oklahoma.
Dorotha was born on June 2, 1929 on a farm near Helena, Oklahoma to Charley and Ruth Packard Carter. She was the youngest of three siblings. After completing eight years in a country grade school, Dorotha graduated from Helena High School and Enid Business College. After business college, she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a transcriber in the surgery department. In 1950, Dorotha married T.P. “Woody” Woodford. During her husband’s Air Force career, the family lived in five different states. While living in San Antonio, Dorotha owned and operated Dot’s Collectibles. Her hobbies and interest included painting, shopping, yard work, family get togethers and Christmas. Dorotha was very strong in her faith, and kept her Bible by her favorite chair.
Dorotha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woody; brother-in-law, Jack; brother, Robert and his wife Pauline; granddaughter Shelty and baby Chantry Jo; nieces, Linda and Kathy; daughter-in-law, Terri “Ditto”.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis, Steve and wife, Brenda, and Terry; sister, Sylva Rhodes; niece Virginia (Jerry); grandchildren, Shasta (Frank), Stoney and Douglas (Jamie) and nine great grandchildren.
