Helena, OK. -- Services for Vere Thompson, 89, who died Monday in a nursing home in Clinton, OK., will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Daniel A. Sanford officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery directed by Kenny Lanman Funeral Home, Helena.
She married Ernest G. Thompson in Cherokee, OK. in December 1917.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Ernest, a son, Jack, and three brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Lenora Marcy of Clinton, OK.; a son, Jim Thompson, of Dallas, TX.; a sister, Sadie Metcalf of Nyssa, Ore.; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Helena Christian Church or the Eastern Star with the funeral home acting as custodian.
