Larry Dean Snider
February 18, 1937 - September 11, 2019
Helena-Larry was born on February 18, 1937 in Cherokee to Earl Snider and Hazel Ross Snider and passed from this life in Helena on September 11, 2019.
Larry lived his lifetime in the Helena area. As a child, Larry picked fruit in the Coleman Orchard as his first job. He also drove a tractor for farmers in the area. He graduated from Helena High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1959 and was very proud to have served two years active duty. Larry married Devonna Coulter on September 7, 1963 in Helena United Methodist Church. After Larry's return from the service he helped to install the sewer and water lines in the town of Helena. Larry was a butcher for Hayes Locker Plant in Enid and then came to work for Snider's Meat Market in Helena and also worked for the Helena Boys School. He then worked for Alfalfa County as a heavy equipment operator and also farmed. Larry was a member of the Pleasant Plains Church of the Brethren.
Those who preceded Larry in death include his parents and two brothers, Jim and Bobby.
Survivors include his wife, Devonna; two children, Darin Snider and wife, Christy and Derek Snider; three grandchildren, Phoenix Howell and husband, Aaron, Nicolette Snider and Morgan Snider, and one brother, John Snider.
Funeral service for Larry is Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Plains Church of the Brethren south of McWillie. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena.
