Avis Mae Snider
The funeral for Avis Mae Snider, 87, of Helena, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Helena. The Rev. Brantley Tillery will officiate. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., Helena.
She was born Nov. 15, 1916, in Catesby, OK. to William G. and Alta Marsh Piersall and died Sunday, March 6, 2005 in Fairview, OK. Hospital.
She married Bill Polin in 1933. She moved to Helena and married C. W. "Jack" Snider in 1946. They were owners and operators of Snider Meat Market. He died in 1983.
She was a member of United Methodist Church of Helena, Eastern Star and Helena Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are her two sons, Jack Snider of Kingfisher, OK. and Jerry Clarence Snider of Muskogee, OK.; three daughters, Glenna Mahieu of Helena, OK., Dorothy Faye Wagner of Marble Falls, TX., and Belva Jean Shoemaker, Donna, TX.; a brother, John Glen Piersall of Portland, OR.; a sister, Iris Faye Piersall of Enid, OK.; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, C. W., she was preceded in death by a daughter (Peggy Sweatt) and a brother (Curtis Piersall).
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Helena United Methodist Church or Rehabilitation Visual Service of Oklahoma.

C. W. "Jack" Snider
Helena, OK. -- C.W. "Jack" Snider, 80, died Saturday in a Fairview, OK. hospital. His service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, in the United Methodist Church at Helena. The Rev. Charles Graves will officiate. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, Helena, under direction of Kenny Lanman Funeral Home, Helena. The casket will be open at the funeral home until noon Tuesday and at the church until service time.
He was born October 27, 1903 and died November 19, 1983.
Survivors include his wife, Avis (Piersall Polin); four daughters, Peggy Jo (Mrs. Noble) Sweatt, Helena, OK., Dorothy Faye (Mrs. Vernon) Wagner, Monahans, TX., Belva Jean (Mrs. Carl) Shoemaker, Waukomis, OK., and Glenna Lee (Mrs. Ivan) Mahieu, Helena, OK.; two sons, Jackie Lynn Snider, Kingfisher, OK., and Jerry Snider, Muskogee, OK.; two sisters, Pauline McNabb, Hooker, OK., and Hazel (Mrs. Floyd) Ross, Helena, OK.; one brother, Earl Snider, Aline, OK.; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one half-brother and two sons.
Memorials in his name may be made to Medical Research for Kidney or Lupus Research.
