Virginia M. Copenhaver, (Hedrick) Schaub, 96, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2018, with family by her side, while in the care of Platte County Legacy Home in Wheatland, Wyoming. She was a former resident of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma.
Virginia was born on January 18, 1922, in Aline, Oklahoma, to the late Frank and Stella Copenhaver. She was married to Edwin Hedrick and then later to Lee Schaub. Both have preceded her in death. Virginia was employed by the Cleo State Bank and retired after 22 years there. Virginia was a member of the Methodist Church in Cleo Springs. She enjoyed playing bridge, quilting, knitting, visiting with friends and reading her bible. Virginia was known for her chocolate pies, fried chicken, cinnamon rolls and homemade egg noodles. Her true joy was making and giving away many quilts to friends and relatives.
Virginia is survived by her children, Joan Cofer and husband, Gary of Wheatland, Wyoming; Monty Hedrick and wife, Lorraine of Hemlock, Michigan; one sister, LeoJean Parker of Wichita, Kansas; step-children, Robert Schaub and Leaunna Maxon; five grandchildren, Dana Wilson, Gina Vineyard, Catherine Hemenway and Nancy Armstrong; nine great-grandchildren, Mikala, Tel, Dustin, Annaleese, Maddie, Audrey, Lucy, Megan and Jacob; one great-great-granddaughter, Audri. She is also survived by other extended family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Ben; one sister, Dora; and one grandson, Bret.
Cremation has taken place. Her Celebration of Life is 1:30 p.m. June 18, 2018, at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel in Helena. Cremains will be buried in Good Hope Cemetery in Woods County Oklahoma. www.LanmanMemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
