Ruth Frances Fetzer Ross was born January 15, 1927, in Helena OK, the daughter of Dale C. and Ruth Barrett Fetzer, and passed from this life on October 15, 2011, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid OK. Ruth grew up in Helena and graduated from Helena High School. She attended Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) in Stillwater, graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma College in Alva, and had done post-graduate studies at Central State University (now the University of Central Oklahoma) in Edmond. Ruth and Verle Gene Ross were married on November 9, 1946; and they established a farm home southwest of Helena. She taught elementary school children for 28 years and retired in 1986.
Ruth is survived by her sister, Jean Hughes and husband Ben; brothers Paul Fetzer and wife Nina, and Dr. Larry Fetzer and wife Nancy; son Robert Ross and wife Sue; daughter Cathy Johnson and husband Kim; grandchildren,Michael Ross and wife Tru, Gena Ross Kirkham and husband Tim, Nate Ross and wife Javon, Ryan Johnson, Levi Johnson and wife Lacey, Curtis Johnson and wife Deedee, and Kory Johnson; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Verle Gene, three brothers, and three sisters.
