Funeral service for Rosalie J. Penquite, 82, who died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Helena Church of Christ, with Bill Springer officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Viewing will be 1-6 p.m. today, Jan. 8. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. (www.lanmanmemorials.com)
Rosalie “Rosie” Joyce Penquite was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Helena, Okla., to Lawrence and Mary Rollmann Coleman and passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, in Bartlesville, Okla., where she has resided since August 2013.
Rosalie lived her entire life in Helena, where she attended school and graduated from Helena High in 1950. Rosalie attended Church of Christ and was baptized at age 12.
Rosalie and Bill R. Penquite were united in marriage on Feb. 14, 1953, at the home of her parents in Helena. They made their home in Helena and were engaged in farming until 1997.
During these years, while raising two sons, Rosalie was employed locally at several jobs. Along with her family, boating, camping and motorcycling were favorite activities.
She always enjoyed her four grandchildren, their dogs, and in later years, traveling across the U.S. and Canada.
She is survived by two sons, Bill and Patricia Penquite of Bartlesville and Mike and Joyce Penquite of Edmond; one grandson, Jonathan and Kara Penquite of Benton, La.; three granddaughters, Melissa and Mitch Wallace of Big Pine Key, Fla., Jennifer Penquite of Edmond, and Stephanie Penquite of Moore. She also is survived by four great-grandchildren, Tanner Wallace of Big Pine Key, Fla., and Jackson, Claire and Caitlin Penquite of Benton, La. She is survived by nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill in 1999, and her friend, Ernest Rexroat in 2004.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research heart, cancer or Parkinson’s divisions.
