Graveside services for Jack Dean Palmer, 60 Helena, were at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001 at Good Hope Cemetery near Helena officiated by Rev. Dean Holt. Arrangements were by Lanman Funeral Home of Helena.
Jack was born Feb. 6, 1941 in Helena, the son of Cecil (Pappy) and Helen Gibson Palmer and passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid. He graduated from Helena High School. Jack served in the military from 1964 until 1969. After returning from the Army, he began working for Kline Implement and then started farming and ranching in the Helena area until 1985 at which time he began working for Sturgeon's Corner where he was still employed at the time of his death.
A tribute from his children: The heart that reached out to all of us, and the special family he built from different bloodlines and names. We are his legacy and gift to the future.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Palmer, of Helena; four children, Jenni and husband Jimmy Doyle of Lake Cormorant, Miss., Jeff Mitchell of Fairmont, Sarah and husband Justin Wardrop of Hartley, Texas, and Cody Young and wife Joy of Woodward; four brothers, Chester Palmer of Oklahoma City, Kenneth Palmer of Ringwood, Jim Palmer and Jerry Palmer, both of Helena; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Billy, and one sister Shirley.
Memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation through Lanman Funeral Home of Helena.
