Helena, OK. -- The funeral for Norma Jean Masquelier, 64, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Helena Christian Church. The Rev. Bill Coburn will officiate. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home. The casket will be open at the funeral home from 9a.m. until 7p.m. today and at the church Wednesday after the service.
She was born February 14, 1935 to John and Edith Stein Liebrand and died Sunday, December 12, 1999 at her home in Helena.
She graduated from Helena High School in 1953. In 1954, she married John I. Masquelier. They lived in Helena, OK., Oklahoma City, OK., and Enid, OK. before moving back to Helena. She was a Cub Scout leader, involved in Girl Scouts and was a member of the PTA and Helena Christian Church. She worked for Marquis Studios in Enid, OK. and as a secretary at Chisholm High School during the late 1970's. She also worked for the town of Helena, Enid Group Homes and as a foster parent for Youth and Family Services.
Surviving are two sisters, Mary Lou Foltz, Billings, OK. and JoAnn Barron, Tulsa, OK.; one brother, Dr. Clair Liebrand, Bartlesville, OK.; one daughter, Jan Barker of Dalhart, TX.; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons (John Harlan and Jeff) and one sister (Barbara).
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church's building fund.
