Agnes B. Luscombe
Mrs. J. R. (Belle) Luscombe, 84, a long time resident of Helena, died early
Friday, March 22, 1963, in a hospital at Cherokee, Ok.
She was born near Mansfield, Ohio and came to Beaver County, Oklahoma in
1904. She was married to J. R. Luscombe March 12, 1900 at Holton, Kan.
She lived in Missouri for two years prior to coming to Helena in 1922. She
was raised a Lutheran but joined the Methodist Church in 1928, and was a
member of the Helena Methodist Church.
She and her husband celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary March 12,
while she was a patient at the Cherokee hospital.
Survivors include her husband, J. R. of the home; four sons, Harvey, Helena;
Calvin, Goose Bay, Ore.; Clayton, Half Way, Ore.; Roy, Goltry; three
daughters; Mrs. Coila Thomas, Forsyth, Mo.; Mrs. Mary Turner, Reed Springs,
Mo.; Mrs. Elta Ruth Conoway, LaHabra, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Blanche
Paslay, Denver, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. One
infant daughter preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Methodist Church of Helena
with Rev. Paul Strang officiating. Burial will follow in the GoodHope
Cemetery.
Pallbearers include; Ernest Langston, Walter Werner,. John Liebrand, Roy
Simpson, Glenn Dague and L. O. Sturgeon.

Helena---Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. today in the Methodist Church
here for
J. R. Luscombe, 81, who died Saturday, September 28, 1963, at a Cherokee
hospital, following a two month illness.
Rev. Paul Strang and Rev. Omer Tittle will officiate. Interment will be in
the Good Hope Cemetery under direction of the Fossett Funeral Home of
Helena.
Luscombe was born at Soldier, Kan. on October 25,1881, and in 1904 he moved
to Beaver County in Oklahoma where he farmed for a short time and then moved
to Missouri.
He moved back to a farm south of Helena in 1922, where he had been active in
farming since.
The deceased was married to Agnes Belle Culbertson at Holton, Kan., March
12, 1922. She preceded him in death in March, 1963. One daughter also
preceded him in death. He was a member of the Methodist Church here.
Survivors include four sons, Harvey, Helena, Calvin, Goose Bay, Ore.,
Clayton, Half Way, Ore., Roy of Goltry; three daughters; Mrs. Coila Thomas,
Forsyth, Mo., Mrs. Mary Turner, Reed Springs, Mo., Mrs. Elta Ruth Conoway,
La Habra, Cal.; two brothers, Harve of Enid and George of Topeka, Kan.; two
sisters, Mrs. Ethie Allard, Holton, Kan., and Mrs. Myrtle Baxter of Santa
Rosa, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
