Joyce M. Lingo
A memorial service for Joyce M. John Lingo, 56, of Oklahoma City, OK., formerly of Helena, OK., will be 2 p.m. today at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, OK. The Rev. Randy Gordon will officiate. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Helena. Pastor Jay Drawbridge will officiate. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery, southeast of Helena. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena.
She was born Aug. 11, 1948, in Anadarko, OK. to Robert D. and Betty Massey John and died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at her home.
She lived in Apache, OK. and Walters, OK. before moving to Helena in 1962. She graduated from Helena High School in 1966, and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. She worked for OG&E in Enid, OK. and later became secretary to Oklahoma State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Scott Tuxhorn. She then began a career in banking at Fidelity Bank in Oklahoma City and had been an assistant vice president of First Capital Corporation for the last 15 years.
She was a member of Helena Christian Church and Al-Lu-We Chapter of American Business Women's Association.
Surviving are two brothers, Donald R. John of Enid, OK. and Ronald W. John of Helena, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made in her name through the funeral home to ABWA Scholarship Fund.
