LaVera Ruth Hudson Pekrul, 97, Eldon, MO, passed away Dec. 11, 2021, at Rock Island Village, assisted living facility.

She was born Oct. 26, 1924, in Helena, OK, to Elmer and Mildred Gano.

LaVera was married to Edward V. Hudson Jan. 26, 1944, until his death in 1995. She married Hart Pekrul July 27, 2001, until his passing in 2012.

During WWII, LaVera worked as a welder in the defense plants in Wichita, KS. She furthered her career in banking and in the Missouri State Dept.

LaVera was an avid traveler, enjoyed painting, jigsaw puzzles and watching basketball.

She is survived by a daughter, Julia (Dave) Platt, and a son, Stanley (Tonna) Hudson, four granddaughters, Elizabeth (Todd) Platt Edelman, Emily (Jake) Platt Johannes, Tammy (Dale) Hudson Jackson, Stephanie (Donnie) Hudson Hardin, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her family also includes 6 step-children, Ann (Mitch) Pekrul Hull, Cam (Gina) Pekrul, Sue (Mike) Pekrul Woods, Kay (Bill) Pekrul Goddard, Con (Cindy) Pekrul and their extended families. LaVera was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ellen Gano/Smith and Donna Belle Gano/Williams.

LaVera will be interred at the Good Hope Cemetery, Helena, OK.

In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy can be made to a charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.

Buried by her first husband.

(1-11-2022 Per funeral home director at Phillips Funeral Home she was cremated in Missouri and then picked up by her daughter and brought to Oklahoma for ashes to be buried on 12-31-21 in plot beside her 1st husband.)
