Roger Dennis Gwinn
Roger Dennis Gwinn was born December 16, 1935, in Cherokee at the Masonic Hospital to Percy Louis Gwinn and Bessie Fern Mitchell Gwinn. He went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2007, at his home after a lengthy illness.
A celebration of life and memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Faith Center Fellowship in Meno with Pastor Cody Anderson officiating. A private burial followed at Good Hope Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena.

As a child Roger attended Chaney Dell Country School by horseback and later transferred to and graduated from Helena High School. He attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva with a B. S. in history. He accompanied his father and uncles as a custom harvester from 1950 until 1954. Roger continued as a wheat farmer all of his life. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard from 1957 until 1964 as a medical foreman. From 1960 until 1973 he was employed by the Helena State School for Boys as a supervisor.
Roger married Patricia Eck on August 1, 1954 at the Helena Christian Church.
He will be remembered as enjoying life to its fullest. He was a competitive farmer, loyal neighbor, supporter of his family and a Christian.
Survivors include his wife Pat, of the home; one daughter, Roxie Bryant and husband Joe of Drummond; one son, Jo Gwinn and wife Laurie of Helena; eight grandchildren, Travis and Krista Bryant, Spencer Bryant, Tyler, Summer, Will, Pete and Lars Gwinn; one sister, Bonnie Streich; his aunt, Vermelle Parkhurst; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to Parkinsons Disease Foundation through the funeral home.
