Celebration of Life for Vernon Ray Griffin, age 30, of Enid, is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Ray Rose officiating. A private family burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, Helena, Oklahoma, at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Vernon was born December 8, 1986, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Jerry and Sandy (Stephens) Griffin, and passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at home with his mother and sister at his side. Vernon graduated with honors from Enid High School in 2006, and played trombone in the Big Blue Band. He attended Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Oklahoma. Summers were dedicated to Lariat Creek Church Camp, in Geary, Oklahoma, where he accepted Christ into his life, and also made many life-long friends. He was a member of Garriott Road Church of Christ. Vernon went on a mission trip with his youth group to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina to help with Project Nehemiah. He worked various retail jobs and was long-time manager for Radio Shack, and was last employed at Walmart in Enid. Vernon enjoyed playing video games in his spare time and watching movies on Netflix.

Vernon is predeceased by his father, Jerry Griffin; brother, Jeffrey Griffin; paternal grandparents, J.W. and Nola Griffin; and maternal grandfather, Lloyd Stephens.

He is survived by his mother, Sandy Griffin; sister, Jennifer Griffin; wife, Cheyenne (Baldwin) Griffin; maternal grandparents, Robert and Leatha Summers; aunt Marilyn and husband Rick Yazel; uncle Eldon Stephens and wife Connie of Velma, Ok; as well as numerous cousins and extended family members.

Memorials in Vernon's name may be made to Lariat Creek Christian Camp with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Circle of Love and Comfort Keepers for the loving care they provided to Vernon.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on 2017-12-09 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 North Van Buren Street, Enid, OK, United States.
