Helena, OK. -- Funeral service for Jesse Ging, 82, was Tuesday at Helena United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brantley Tillery officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery south of Helena directed by Lanman Funeral Home. He died March 12, 2005 at Great Plains Care Center, Helena.
He was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Carmen, OK. to John W. and Ruby H. Love Ging. On Feb. 13, 1944, he married Geraldine Marie Smith in Enid, OK. He was a lifetime resident of the Helena area and served as a volunteer fireman until he was able to retire from the fire department. He was a foreman with Alfalfa County District Three, retiring after 30 years with the county.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry of Edmond, OK. and Mike of Helena, OK.; three daughters, Sandra Davis of Waco, TX., and Vicki Payne and Amber Spaulding, both of Helena, OK.; a brother, Matthew Ging of Enid, OK.; two sisters, Frances Davis of Helena, OK. and Norma Hoskins of Enid, OK.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love through the funeral home.
