Good Hope Cemetery


Helena – The funeral for Mildred "Mitzi" Irene Anthony, 81, will be at 2:30 PM Sunday at the United Methodist Church, Helena, with Rev. John Breon officiating. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, near Helena, under the direction of Kenny Lanman Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 PM to receive friends. The casket will be open at the church on Sunday before the service.

She was born March 12, 1915 in Helena to Clint and Daisy May Cleghorn Thompson and died Thursday, August 15, 1996.

She lived in the Helena area all of her life, attending Helena Public Schools. She married Cash Wayne "Ike" Anthony in Enid on July 31, 1932. She owned and operated the Drug Store in Helena and later cooked at the school. She held various state offices as a member of Helena Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Helena United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Wesley Howard Anthony of Guthrie, and Richard Wayne Anthony of Amarillo, Texas; three daughters, Judy Thorp of Enid, Lilliam Blakesley of Wilson, North Carolina, and Cashandra Shields of Germantown, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren and 16 great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, her parents and three sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Helena United Methodist Church or the Oklahoma School for the Deaf through Kenny Lanmann Funeral Home.
