Funeral services for Robert E. "Bobby" Adamson will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve McClaren officiating. Burial will follow in Goodhope Cemetery in Helena, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Bobby passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the age of 79. He was born November 30, 1928 in Helena, OK to Harry and Gladys (Main) Adamson. He grew up in Helena where he was a baseball player in high school and even pitched a few no-hitters. He married Ruth Gregg on March 4, 1948 and together, they moved to Enid in 1952. They had just recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Bobby was owner and operator of many businesses over the years including Oxford and Youngblood Hotels, Turf Bar, and A to Z Carpet as well as being partner of Palace Bingo. He also owned and raced thoroughbreds. He especially loved to play cards.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home; two sons, Robert E. Adamson, Jr. and Billy E. Adamson; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
