Good Hope Cemetery

Marjorie Ames
May 2, 1932 - March 4, 2024

In loving memory of Marjorie Rowena (Wood) Ames, who graced this world on May 2, 1932, in Trent, Texas, and peacefully departed on March 4, 2024, in Greenbrier at the age of 91 years. Marjorie's journey was one filled with kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Marjorie began her professional path as a med aide nurse, showcasing her dedication to caring for others from a young age. Later in life, she made Helena her home in 1995 and became a familiar face at the Jiffy Trip until she embraced retirement. Her work ethic was admirable, but it was her warm smile that truly left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Her joy was contagious and had the power to brighten even the darkest days.

Family meant everything to Marjorie. She found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones and cherished every moment shared together. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to her church community, where she found solace and kinship among her church family.

Marjorie was reunited in heaven with her parents, Dewey and Vera Wood; her beloved husband of 62 years, Lester Ames; sons, Jim, and Little Lester Arlen Ames; along with two brothers; three sisters; a granddaughter, and a great-grandson. While her absence leaves a void here on earth, her memories will forever be cherished.

Marjorie's legacy lives on through her surviving children: Delba (Jeff) Blair of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Dena Bradshaw of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Leslie (Donnie) Reed of Hominy, Oklahoma; Rowena (Pat) Perry of Lago Vista, Texas; Betty (Dennis) McCollum of Helena, Oklahoma, and Jeff Ames. Additionally, she is survived by a multitude of grandchildren, twenty one in number, alongside fifty one great-grandchildren, and twenty six great-great-grandchildren.

As we bid farewell to Marjorie, let us hold dear the memories of her love, laughter, and unwavering spirit. She has left an indelible mark on all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

May you rest in peace surrounded by the love you so freely shared during your time among us.
