ENID — Funeral for Dixie Smith, 71, of Alva, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Alva Friends Church. Burial in Garrison Cemetery. Arrangements by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.

Dixie was born Nov. 13, 1939, in Cherokee to Vera Mae Coss and Ralph Leslie White and died Sunday, April 3, 2011, Alva Share Medical Center.

Preceded in death by two sons, Shawn and Carroll, and one great grandson, Bryse.

Surviving are husband, Wayne, and son Leslie of the home; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Glenda Trekell of Wichita, Kan., and Geraldine Jane Jones of Okmulgee.
