The funeral for Clarence R. McDermott, 90, of Dacoma will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hopeton Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Marion Hadsell will officiate. Burial will be in Garrison Cemetery, Dacoma. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel.
He was born Jan. 5, 1915, near Dacoma to William Ezra and Nellie Burkholder Mc Dermott and died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid.
He attended Pleasant View rural grade school.
He married Opal Whittington July 21, 1940. She died March 31, 1948.
He married Christie Marie Peterson Nov. 17, 1949, at Alva. They made their home and farmed in Dacoma. She died June 13, 1999.
He retired after 75 years of farming at the age of 89. He was a member of Pleasant View Church until it united with Hopeton Church, and was a 50- year board member. He also was a member of Dacoma Lions Club.
Surviving are two sons, Max of Alva and Donnie of Dacoma; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his two wives, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to Hopeton Wesleyan Church.
