The funeral service for Larry Dee Lewis, 72, is 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at the Dacoma United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Bizzell officiating. Interment is in the Eagle Chief Cemetery, under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.
Larry Dee Lewis, son of Wayne and Ione (Morgan) Lewis, was born Dec. 28, 1943, in Eureka, Kan., and passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, in Wichita, Kan. Larry grew up in Hamilton, Kan., and graduated from Hamilton High School. He proudly served in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. On June 2, 1963, he was united in marriage to Glenda Sharp, in Dacoma. They lived in Alva most of their lives, where he worked at Safeway, Homeland and Alva's Market.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hamilton, Kan., and the Burton, Kan., VFW. He enjoyed bowling and served many years as the association manager.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Larry is survived by his wife, Glenda, of Alva; his sister, Rachael Stewart and husband, Robert, of Rolla, Kan.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Disabled American Veterans, or the American Heart Association.
