The funeral for Lourine Holland Smith, 91, of Jet will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Driftwood Christian Church, Driftwood. The Revs. Vernie Hovorka and Gail Edmison will officiate. Burial will be in Driftwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee.
She was born March 4, 1914, near Driftwood to Harry and Ella Adams Holland and died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006.
She graduated from Driftwood High School and Wichita Business College. She worked for Dunn and Bradstreet at Wichita, Kan., then moved to Washington, D. C., where she worked for United States Department of Labor.
She married W. Frank Smith in Nov. 1947. They owned and operated Wide Awake Grocery Store. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen Johnson of the home; two sisters, Ruby Lembke of Wichita and Loretta Wohlschlegel of Goddard, Kan.; one brother, Donnie Holland of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Frank, she was preceded in death by one son, four brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Share Hospice of Alva or Nescatunga Fire Department.
